BPA Law Passed in New York State

As a mom, a lawyer and a New Yorker I'm ashamed that I missed such huge news earlier this week. Governor Patterson signed the Bisphenol A-Free Children and Babies Act into law on August 3rd. This will end the sale of BPA laden baby bottles, sippy cups, pacifiers and straws as of December 1, 2010. Woohoo! Of course this doesn't go far enough in my opinion (how about those cans and receipts!), but it's a great start.

For more information on the law and BPA in general check out this Safer States post. And if you live outside NY - Safer States is a great resource for information related to toxic chemical protection in all states.
