I was introduced to the adorable collection of organic wooden toys at Little Sapling Toys through my aunt, who purchased their organic Sapling Stacker Toy and Building Blocks for Nate's first birthday. I instantly fell in love. (I wrote about the stacker in my post about eco-friendly toys here). As I said before, I want everything in their shop.
I have a preference for wooden toys to begin with since there are no icky toxins in the plastic to worry about and they just feel nicer to me. But the toys at Little Sapling Toys are especially lovely - they're organic and made of solid maple, cherry and walnut wood. The teethers are left bare and the other toys are finished with their own local beeswax and organic jojoba oil blend.
That means that unlike other wooden toys, which may contain trace amount of toxins like bromine and arsenic in the paint, all of the toys at LST are completely safe. Not only are they safe, but they have huge toddler appeal. Nate and his friends love banging the wood pieces together and sinking their little chompers into them too.
