The other night Nate was looking at one of his favorite books, Richard Scarry's Cars and Trucks from A to Z, at bedtime. (We have a two book system where he looks at one book and asks me questions about it while I simultaneously read a different book aloud. Obviously, Nate was the one that devised this system.) Each letter of the alphabet is accompaniedby drawings of one of more vehicles - you know, C for corn car, G for garbage truck or Z for zipper mobile.
So while I read Goodnight Moon, he started pointing at the vehicles to ask me what they were. Then he started asking what while he pointed ("wha"). Then that morphed into an occassional "whoa" while he pointed. And then pretty soon he was saying Whoa while he pointed at every single vehicle. There are probably thirty-five vehicles. That's a lot of whoas. Especially if you have to read it THREE times.
