As I've mentioned before, I've been working on the alphabet with Nate. At first we were mostly just reading alphabet books, playing with alphabet blocks and talking about letters. But that was yielding only mediocre results. It's a mother's job to make sure their child knows the alphabet. And I come from a long line of mothers. So I decided to change my strategy and use some positive reinforcement.
Positive reinforcement, as in: if you memorize the alphabet, you can eat your dinner. Or, if you say your ABCs, you can have your diaper changed. Amazing results! This kid is a quick learner. Here is Nate reciting the alphabet all on his own:
Okay, not really. Maybe if I use more positive reinforcement. It's raining outside today. Maybe he'd like to come inside for awhile...
